Sunday Poetry - God Dreams
I thought the first day of March to be a special day. It is my husband’s birthday and I would like to share a spiritual poem with you. This was written the morning after I had a very vivid dream about God. The dream has faded a bit with time since it was several years ago, but I do remember that it filled me with hope, love and a strong sense of purposefulness. Here it is.
God Dreams
by Therese Haberman
Mind Flames Meander
Sodden Paws Collide
Beasties Beat Me Silly
WhileJesus Wept Inside
God came to me in a dream one night
On sparkling, whirling faerie light
Spinning around a dark ceiling
Classical rhapsodies were blaring
In paw-perfect unison
Bleeding tears from way down deep
Old wounds I’d sell my soul to keep
Make things interesting late at night
Before the crow voices reunite
Breaking my vapid fall from flight
Mind Flames Sputter
Paws Intertwine
Beasties Beat Me Senseless
WhileJesus Weeps In Time
I gazed upon His graying mane
Risking blindness all the same
Daring to ask if I could kiss His feet
He turned and offered His whiskered cheek
Rejoicing, I kissed the King of Kings
Mind Flames Meander
Sodden Paws Collide
Beasties leave my premises
Jesus Lives Inside
