A Good Handshake
There is nothing better than to start a business meeting or job interview with a good firm and dry handshake. And nothing quite as unpleasant as the sopping wet palm, feebly placed somewhere in the vicinity of your arm. Or, worse still, the “weakling” shake that is so feeble and lacking in conviction that you feel the need to shake their hand even harder to get a response.
Don’t turn off your interviewer with a really limp handshake. Whether you are a man or a woman, modern business etiquette requires that you greet others with a firm grip and as a bonus, a winning smile is a good idea as well.
If you ever meet a really powerful (US, western cultures) leader, I can almost guarantee that he or she is adept at the fine art of a good handshake. So reach out your arm with enthusiasm and “make it so”.
