Jobs of the Future
I have a great deal of personal faith in a liberal arts education. It is more about appreciating a broad spectrum of subjects that enhance an individual’s knowledge, intelligence and general information. A way of looking at the world from a position of balanced knowledge. Unfortunately however, due to the pathetic state of our economy, liberal arts - for the time being anyway - don’t put the bread on the table nor the chicken in the proverbial pot.
What fields are paying? Engineering degrees are always a good bet, but particularly chemical and electrical engineers are doing well as recent college graduates.
Many liberal arts educated students are finding it necessary to go straight into graduate school to enhance their marketability in a tough economy. That is, those lucky few who can afford to continue their education either because they recently won the lottery or because they have rich relatives picking up the tab.
