Saving Money

I have a miserable cold so I went to the local drug store to buy a few things to make me feel better. All the usual suspects: tissues, cough drops, cold remedies, etc. By the time I made it through the store, picking up this, that and a couple of things I forgot to get at the grocery store, I had spent one hundred dollars!

Before I went, I had checked out the sale flyer for the week to make sure I would be buying the brands that were featured and managed to save almost forty dollars, which means the bill would have been almost a buck and a half. Prices are just getting out of control. Sure, now I can afford to fill up the gas tank without taking out a personal loan but, for what? I can’t afford to buy anything anymore. It’s downright depressing.

And while I am on a rant, I am not fooled by the way they have kept the boxes and packaging looking the same, but have reduced the amount of product in the fancy containers! You can’t even buy a real pound of coffee anymore because all you will get is 12-14 ounces of the stuff, unless you buy one of those big, honking things that will get stale before you finish using all the grounds.

All I can say is, I am not too proud to use coupons, discount cards, half price deals, buy one get one free or whatever is offered. I need all the help I can get.
