A Time for Everything
November is a time for reflection and preparation. A transitional month that takes us from the beauty of a colorful autumn to the first snowfall and the start of the holiday season.
I love Thanksgiving. Sure, the turkey is great and all the food and drink goes down much easier than it should, but it’s much more than that. The family part is what I love the most. We have a small family group that gets together for most of the big holidays. This year, getting together means even more than it ever has in the past.
We have not been blessed with great health over the course of the last couple of years and this year has been even more of a challenge for us. That being said, my appreciation for the very act of being able to join together and celebrate is a small miracle in itself.
So I look forward to the wonder of the holidays and the dawn of a new age for America. And I recite these words with conviction and a full heart: “Release the last of past, embrace the face of day, march through the laureled arch of tomorrow’s dawn.” TMH
