Yes, Times are Tough But…
![]()
Times are getting really tough. In the area where I live, the unemployment rate is pushing the ten percent mark and that is only a statistical sampling of people who happen to be lucky enough to be collecting unemployment compensation. It doesn’t include all those folks who have already given up hope.
When things get tough like this, it is easier to sink into a state of despair, than to see the bright side of what might happen tomorrow. The fact is, tomorrow is pulling us forward into a future filled with hope and optimism.
A friend wrote to me about reading something recently that struck me in a good way. In a book by Robert Moss, The Three Only Things. He was talking about the Chinese oracle, “I Ching,” and he states, “. . .There is constancy and stability only through change. At every moment, our place in the world is shifting. You can no more stop the changes than ask the waves to stop rolling in. The art is to learn to read the patterns of what wants to happen in a given moment.”
The world is shifting and the winds are changing. Things will get better if you keep moving toward what wants to happen. Make it something good.
