Careermysteries – What Time is My Nap?
Interview Questions from Applicants -A hiring manager asks Ms. Therese, what questions from an applicant should I view as “questionable”?
- Tell me about the sick pay policy?
- When can I take all my breaks (usually indicative of a smoker)?
- Do you have a severance policy?
- Do I get docked for leaving early?
- How many mental health days do I get?
- What time can I take my nap?
- Any and all questions in a foreign language.
You get the idea. Any questions that deal with topics not related to getting the job done in the interview stage of the process are either inappropriate or premature. If an employee seems overly preoccupied with the job pay, policies or benefits, he may be looking for a free ride at the company’s expense. Sadly, some people are out to try to beat the system and find a way to get something for nothing. Others just have a bad attitude that follows them around like a dark cloud that never quite clears. These are the people you want somebody else to hire, anybody else.
Have a great weekend.

I know that dark cloud person! I don’t know if she’s napping a lot, but it might improve her attitude if she did!
